What is the Como Cake Social?
The Como Cake Social is an event centered around community, friendship, and cake. Not only do you get to try all sorts of new and unique flavors of cakes, but you get to meet other passionate bakers in your community!
When: October 11th, at 12pm
Where: Burford Shelter at Cosmo Park
The Process
Purchase a ticket below, then make a 8" one tiered cake. When you arrive, check in, then place your cake in the pavilion and label accordingly!
Once all the cakes are placed, we will have an icebreaker time when everyone talks about their cake, and you write down what cakes you will want to put in your box!
We will then split everyone into two groups and give everyone a box, and you'll have five minutes to cut pieces of whatever cakes you want!
Then the fun part! Picnic!! There is plenty of grassy areas around the pavilion, so bring a blanket or lawn chairs and whatever snacks or picnic food you'd like to share with your friends and family!
FAQs
- Tiered cakes are not allowed, but layered cakes are encouraged so that more people can enjoy your cake!
- Can I bring my own food and drink?
Absolutely! You are more than welcome to do so and enjoy your time in the park! There is plenty of space for blankets and chairs!
- What if I have allergies?
Sadly, with all the cakes coming to the event, we cannot prevent cross contamination, so if you have dairy, wheat, nut allergies, etc., this event is NOT for you.
- Can I just be a spectator?
Every participant MUST bring a cake to participate in cutting/sampling cakes, but others are more than welcome to hangout and picnic with participants who bought a ticket and brought a cake!
